Every Gravity Series cook starts the same way: a fire starter at the bottom of the hopper. These are the cubes Masterbuilt designed for that job. Each one is pure paraffin wax, so it lights with a single match, burns without smoke or chemical smell, and reaches up to 1,300°F, which is hot enough to get lump charcoal or briquettes going quickly. They also light when damp, which helps on a humid morning or a wet campsite.

They work just as well in a kettle, a kamado or a chimney starter. One or two cubes under a pile of charcoal replaces lighter fluid and the taste it can leave on food. A box of 48 covers a full season of weekend cooks.
