Masterbuilt Gravity Series XT Digital Charcoal Grill and Smoker

The XT is the heavy-duty version of Masterbuilt's gravity-fed charcoal grill, built for people who run long cooks and want a pit that holds heat in any weather. The cooking chamber is a single-piece, dual-wall insulated body with a porcelain-coated interior and a fiberglass mesh gasket on the lid, so heat, smoke and moisture stay where the food is, and it burns less charcoal to hold temperature.

The hopper takes up to 18 lbs of briquettes or 12 lbs of lump, enough for up to 24 hours. That covers an overnight brisket and the next day's ribs without reloading. The digital fan holds any temperature from 180°F to 700°F. It reaches 225°F in about 7 minutes and searing heat in about 11. The control panel graphs the cook and shows up to four meat probes (two are included), and the Masterbuilt app does the same from your phone. A slide lever shuts the fire down cleanly when you're done.

Inside there are 1,260 sq. in. across stainless grates and up to three levels of full-width racks. A U-shaped dual manifold spreads the heat evenly and channels grease into a full-length tray. The stainless side shelf has hooks, a drawer and a towel bar, and a second shelf folds down in front.
